A group of volunteers from Wax Baptist Church in Rome, Ga., prepare to serve breakfast to the homeless. Love In Action assisted a local Methodist church in serving breakfast to the homeless in a parking lot in downtown Atlanta on April 16. After the homeless got their food, LIA team members gave them socks. They were very thankful for the food and socks.

The homeless tell us socks are like “gold” to them. It’s very important to take care of their feet because the homeless walk the city streets for most of the day and night. Therefore, socks are a much-needed item for the homeless. Thanks to the many who donated socks and finances for socks, we were able to distribute about 500 pairs of socks to the homeless on a cold, but beautiful spring day in Atlanta. They were very appreciative to receive the socks. Most of them said “thank you” and “God bless you.” We here at LIA want to say “thank you” and “God bless you” to everyone who gave to make this outreach possible. Thanks for your continued prayers and financial support. Socks will be a regular item we give to the homeless.
