Reaching
out to the Homeless
One
of the most important parts of Love In Action Ministries is supplying inner
city churches
who reach out to the homeless and working poor with hygiene items and other
supplies. This helps them more effectively reach out to the "least of
these."

Love
In Action reaches out to the homeless throughout the nation to fulfill its mission
of "proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ through acts of compassion."
We want to be God's hands and feet by fulfilling what Jesus said in Matthew
25:35-36: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty
and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
I needed clothes and you clothed me, was sick and you looked after me, I was
in prison and you came to visit me."
On June 1, 2007,Love In Action mailed 44 pounds of new white tube socks to Sunset
Park Community Church in Brooklyn, NY, to help with their homeless ministry.
Pastor Larry Pitta was excited to receive the socks. The homeless have told
us over the years that socks are like gold to them, because they are constantly
on their feet.
On Saturday, March 31, 2007, we delivered a pickup truck load of supplies to
The Ordinary People Society (T.O.P.S.) in Dothan, Ala. T.O.P.S. does a great
job of reaching out to the homeless and working poor in Dothan. T.O.P.S. not
only provides food, clothes and a place to take a shower, but the ministry also
works with them on getting their GEDs and providing job training skills. Love
In Action delivered food and paper supplies for the soup kitchen, which feeds
110-120 people daily, and hygiene supplies for the shower ministry.
These are just a couple of examples of what Love In Action does each month.

Eagle's Nest
 Project Eagle's Nest is an outreach Love In Action began in December 2004 to help Eagle's Nest Ministry in Atlanta reach out to the homeless. Thanks to your donations we are able to help support Eagle's Nest with their Bath Ministry. Every Wednesday homeless women come to shower and the men come on Thursdays. They are able to get clean and have their clothes washed. It's an awesome ministry and a great way to reach the homeless with the love of Jesus Christ.
