Dothan Jesus Jam Festival
(July 21)
'Let the little children come to me'

Love In Action President Mike Shroades shares a message about the love of Jesus Christ at the Dothan
Jesus Jam Festival. More than 20 children prayed to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Jesus says in Luke 18:16, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God
belongs to such as these." It's easy to see through reading the Bible that Jesus loves children. Love In Action's
Jesus Jam Festival in Dothan, Ala., on July 21, 2007, was a special one for children. At most Jesus Jam Festivals,
we see a good mixture of adults and children, but mostly children turned out at Kinney Park, which is located in what
locals call "The Bottoms." It's an impoverished neighborhood filled with drugs and violence. To bring the love and joy
of Jesus Christ to these precious children was a great blessing for all the volunteers. Though many of the children
were "hard" due to their environment, they softened up and more than 20 responded as Love In Action President Mike
Shroades led them in the sinner's prayer. The children enjoyed playing a variety of games, winning prizes and eating
hotdogs, potato chips and homemade cookies. Volunteers from eight churches and ministries helped with this outreach. In addition to Love In Action, other volunteers were from The Ordinary People Society (T.O.P.S.) in Dothan, Harvest Church in Dothan, The Potter's House in Enterprise, Ala, Southside Baptist Church in Ozark, Ala., The Pointe
in Dothan, Ala., Bethany Baptist in New Brockton, Ala., and Great Day Community Church in Rome, Ga.

on the right enjoyed riding the tricycle. The children had fun playing a variety of games, including an obstacle course, basketball, football, horseshoes, and baseball.

Horseshoes was a popular game. Winners won an
