This page is dedicated to updates from Love In Action's Celebrate Recovery program. It is made possible by Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Taylor, Ala. They are the sponsor and they have also provided leaders for Celebrate Recovery. They are a wonderful church with a great heart for the homeless, hurting and lost. A special "thank you" to Emily Hinderliter. This was her vision, and Tabernacle got 100 percent behind it.
Celebrate Recover meets every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Highland Park UMC in Dothan, AL, until the LIA Ministry Center's renovations are complete.

New Beginnings

Pastor Ken Tuck, president of Love In Action International Ministries, preaches a message titled "New Beginnings" at the grand opening of Celebrate Recovery Inside.

Love In Action held its grand opening for Celebrate Recovery Inside at the newly remodeled Love In Action Ministry Center on Sept. 27, 2011. It was a wonderful night as graduates of the program returned for this special event. Most importantly, one young man received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior! There is no better way to open a ministry center. The Alan Watson Band did a wonderful job of leading praise & worship, and Love In Action President Ken Tuck preached a message titled "New Beginnings." Celebrate Recovery Inside is held every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the LIA Ministry Center, 320 N. Foster St., Dothan. It is for anyone with hurts, habits and hangups. Everyone enjoys food, fellowship, worship, preaching/testimony and small groups.

Photos from first service

We held our first Celebrate Recovery Inside at the new Love In Action Ministry Center on Sept. 20, 2011. It was a "light opening" for the Houston County Community Corrections Work Release inmates. We love these men and women and wanted to hold the first CRI for them. It also gave us the opportunity to see what works and what doesn't, so we can adjust for our big CRI grand opening on Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. It was a great night with a lot of wonderful ministry taking place. Everyone agreed that it was good to be back home. This was our first CRI at Love In Action since December. We want to thank Pastor David Willis and Highland Park United Methodist Church for allowing us to use their facilities while we were renovating our new building.

Overcoming hurts, habits & hang-ups

Pastor Dwight Deal preached at a recent Love In Action Celebrate Recovery Inside meeting. This ministry is so exciting! God is truly transforming lives through CRI. We want to thank all of our wonderful volunteers who make this outreach so successful, and a special "thank you" to Highland Park United Methodist Church for allowing us to use their fellowship hall until we can move CRI to the Love In Action Ministry Center. We thank Tabernacle United Methodist Church for sponsoring CRI. What an incredible commitment!
Here is a short video of Dwight preaching:

Touching lives

Justin Coleman shared his testimony at Celebrate Recovery Inside on June 1, 2011. Afterward, a man rededicated his life to Jesus Christ. Praise God! God is working through CRI to touch and transform lives.

Celebrate Recovery Inside at Love In Action made a successful return with 42 people in attendance, and most importantly, a woman accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Praise God! We thank Pastor David Willis and Highland Park UMC for allowing us to hold CRI at their church until the Love In Action Ministry Center is renovated. Thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers, and to Harvest Church for allowing us to use their bus to pick up inmates at Houston County Community Corrections work release. A very special thanks to Tabernacle UMC for sponsoring Celebrate Recovery Inside at Love In Action.

One-year anniversary of
Celebrate Recovery Inside

Jeff, an inmate at Houston County Community Corrections work release, sings as part of his testimony to what God has done in his life this past year. The Love In Action Ministry Center was filled with 145 people for the one-year anniversary of Celebrate Recovery Inside on Oct. 5, 2010. This past year through Celebrate Recovery, dozens of people have given their lives to Jesus Christ, hundreds of lives have been changed, hundreds of homeless and needy served dinner, and hundreds of people received clothes, coats, blankets and hygiene products. And, that's just what happens at Love In Action on Tuesday nights. Celebrate Recovery is an outstanding program and thanks to Tabernacle United Methodist Church and many volunteers, lives are being changed for the glory of God every Tuesday night. Be sure to watch the six videos below from the 1-year celebration. It will touch your heart.

Overcoming temptations

Pastor Dwight Deal of First United Methodist Church in New Brockton, Ala., preached a great message at Celebrate Recovery on Oct. 26, 2010, about overcoming temptations. He had the attention of the crowd of around 100 people, including the young man pictured above who was taking notes. Thanks Dwight for your heart for the lost and hurting, and thanks for sharing such a great message at the Love In Action Ministry Center. Also, a special thank you to Dane Skipper and the Hodgesville Baptist Church praise team for leading worship. Awesome!

Dancing for Jesus

Love In Action volunteers Stephanie and JoAnna performed a beautiful dance at Celebrate Recovery on Oct. 26, 2010, to the song "Worthy is the Lamb." It was very moving and they touched everyone's heart. In fact, they received a standing ovation. This is the second time they have performed a dance, and both times they did an awesome job of ministering to the people. Stephanie and Joanna also lead Love In Action's children's ministry. They are two wonderful, anointed young women who love God with all their hearts. Thank you Stephanie and Joanna for everything you do.

Crossroads ministers at Celebrate Recovery

For the fifth time, Crossroads Community Church in Enterprise, Ala., took over Celebrate Recovery. Oct. 19, 2010, was another powerful night with Pastor Gene Oden preaching and Crossroads Praise & Worship pastors Nic and Janna McElveen doing a wonderful job of leading worship. Crossroads also brought a trailer loaded with blankets and coats, which will help bring warmth to the homeless and needy this winter. Thanks Crossroads for your heart to help the helpless. Also, a big thank you to Harvest Church for providing chicken and ham for our dinner. It was very much needed and everyone enjoyed it. And as always, thanks to Tabernacle United Methodist for sponsoring Celebrate Recovery. CR wouldn't happen without your awesome support. And, thanks again to our awesome volunteers. You are all such a tremendous blessing to Love In Action and the precious people we serve.
