We
heard comments like that throughout the afternoon. The homeless really
do care about their appearance, so to receive personal hygiene supplies
like that was a great blessing to them. We also prepared and distributed
300 bag lunches, and Eagle's Nest Ministries in Atlanta prepared delicious,
hot homemade soup. In addition to the Christmas outreach, we also
gave Eagle's Nest Ministries 60 plastic shoeboxes filled with personal
hygiene items for their new bath ministry. Once a week men come in
to bathe, and on a different day of the week women come in to bathe.
The plastic shoeboxes will help them properly store each homeless
person's hygiene items and make it easier for them each week when
they come in to bathe. All of this was made possible by the grace
of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the generous giving of so
many people throughout this country. We thank each one of you who
gave. A number of you gave individually and others gave together with
their churches and Sunday School classes. Thanks and may God richly
bless each of you this Christmas season and throughout the New Year
for your generosity in helping us reach the homeless with the love
of Jesus Christ through acts of compassion.

Love
In Action volunteer Mickey Tuck prays with this young man during the Christmas
outreach. This young man lives in a very rough part of Atlanta, called
"Million Dollar Corner." It's called that because an estimated
$1 million of drugs are sold on that corner every year. There are 14 full-time
drug dealers and four full-time prostitutes who work that corner. Love
In Action helped bring the light of Jesus Christ into that dark area of
Atlanta. A wonderful church, Atlanta Dream Center, ministers in that area.
We look forward to working with them in the future to further help them
reach their community.

Nearly
100 homeless lined up to receive a bag lunch and hot homemade soup during
Love In Action's Christmas outreach in Atlanta. It was an awesome day
of ministry, which saw five churches join together with Love In Action
to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of homeless people.

Christmas with the Homeless in DothanLove In Action teamed with a ministry in Dothan, Alabama, called The Ordinary People Society to feed the homeless on Christmas Day. We delivered more than 50 meals and 60 shoeboxes filled with personal hygiene items to the homeless. They were very appreciative. Most importantly, five of them accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Thank you for helping us reach the homeless across the country. |
